Hello everybody. Sorry for hardly ever updating this website, but I would like to tell you that a 2nd No Brass CD is in the works. Due to time and money, it's much harder for me than the 1st one, but I have every intention on finishing it. All the drums are finished, so it's just a matter of getting with the other guys to lay down their parts. I do things backwards you know. Probably sometime in 2005 before it will be ready.

Hi, and welcome to the NO BRASS website. My name is Mike Kovacs, and I am very pleased to offer to you my first ever full length CD entitled "The Crowning of the Sun". Consisting of 9 songs, and tracking at 54:13 of total time, it is a record I am extremely proud of, and has (in my own mind) validated my many years of playing music.
Although this is a solo project, I chose the name No Brass over my own name simply because it looks and sounds better, however, there still is a very strong "band feel" thanks in large part to the 5 excellent Cleveland musicians who played on the record.This website was specifically created for the sound samples, as No Brass has no other viable way of getting it's music heard being that is strictly a studio band. I have uploaded 2 samples for each song (one short clip and one long clip) in both the real audio and mp3 formats. Each clip is in a different part of the song to give you the best possible idea of what the music sounds like. The samples are geared more for quick downloads rather than fidelity so please take that into consideration while listening.
